Focused on the application and actionable outcomes of graduate-level research centered on Black cultural history, the Fellows Program supports community-based research and engagement methodologies, cultural heritage design and development strategies.

HISTORIC RANSOM PLACE NEIGHBORHOOD COLLABORATION

ULLI works alongside the Ransom Place Neighborhood Association and Crossroads Development & Consulting Co.’s owner, Mark Young, to improve the development planned for the corner of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and St. Clair Streets. Together we are creating an appropriate commemorative piece to recognize the historical significance of Ransom Place, including the early location of Flanner House in 1918.

CONVERSATIONS WITH ELDERS

ULLI’s “Conversations with Elders” is a program to preserve the vast amount of personal community memory and how the loss of any individual impacts the whole of Indianapolis’ collective history.
